'The Horse, with beauty unsurpassed, strength immeasurable and grace like no other, still remains humble enough to carry man on his back'
~ Amber Senti
Matthew Gregory King Ltd are the second generation of our family enjoying the privilege of working with these great and rare horses and have been associated with breeding and showing of Shire and Clydesdale horses at the highest level for over 50 years. We have had many past and present champions and there is a wealth of experience within the family. Our success with our horses has led to us being the source of many famous horses, having supplied National Champions and the foundation stock of several well-known UK and International studs. Matthew is both a Shire Horse Judge and a Clydesdale Horse Judge and has huge experience with both breeds.
He and his younger brother Adam have grown up around these horses. You cannot split the horses from the men and they live and breathe to support and improve the breed. Watching them work with the horses and care for them you can see that they have incredible knowledge, great skills but they are still in awe of the beauty and of the horses they spend their days looking after. It is an honour for them to be able to care for these incredible animals, they are powerful and beautiful but with this they are humble and they work in partnership with a man, who has none of the power or majesty of the horse.
Here at Matthew Gregory King We are always delighted to welcome genuinely interested customers to view our horses and are happy to answer all enquiries and first-time buyers are very welcome. Please don't worry if you lack experience, we all have to start somewhere and we are here to help and answer your questions both before and after your purchase. You will get a good sense of what we do if you and what our service will look and feel like by reading through our testimonials page.
Our farm is situated in glorious countryside near the South Cheshire / North Shropshire border. We are within easy driving distance of both Liverpool and Manchester airports and close to the main motorway system.
In this lovely part of England, we are fortunate to spend our days looking after the horses and the land, we also keep cows and sheep endeavouring to farm in an environmentally friendly way and are training the next generation of the family in how to care for these beautiful Shire and Clydesdale horses.
